Shawn Healey - Owner
I have always been interested in and fascinated by movement. My first true exposure was as a competetive gymnast. Competing for seven years through the elite level, this was my primary sport and took up almost all of my time as a teenager. This led me to coaching gymnastics for an additional five years. During this time my interest in how we move the body grew. Entering into my college career, my intent was to continue through into physical therapy. I began this path at the University of Oregon, receiving his Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Movement Science in 1994. [more]

Hayley Healey - Owner/Pilates Director
As a little girl and throughout my teenage years I was involved in many different competitive sports, with the consistent thread being sprinting and dance. During my early years, I also became aware that many people don’t feel comfortable being in and moving their bodies. With the love, respect and interest of the body, I attended the University of Oregon pre-med program. Having a personal life path change of family and children, I returned to teaching dance with the sole-heart intention of helping people understand and feel good moving in their bodies. [more]

Megan McGregor - Assistant Pilates Director/Pilates Instructor
While growing up in Anchorage, Alaska I spent most of my time in the dance studio. In addition to taking a wide range of dance classes and rehearsing, I began to spend time as the assistant for one of my instructors; developing my teaching skills and sparking an ongoing interest in helping others enjoy their movement experience. I continued to teach dance classes in Eugene as I worked on my degree at the University of Oregon. After graduation, I began taking Pilates classes at Carpe Diem, realizing how beneficial the classes were not only for my body but also for my state of mind. [more]

Kebrhea Kendall - Fitness Director/Personal Trainer/Pilates Instructor
My exposure to fitness began at the age of eleven. Many situations and people inspired me at that young age, but I'll admit it was just fun. I have always enjoyed exercising as much as I enjoyed the many rewards that it provided. My training regimen, as well as my knowledge and respect for the human body has greatly evolved over the years. [more]

Growing up I was never the biggest kid on the playground but I did discover that I had a tremendous amount of energy that not all the other kids possessed. I was always intrigued by what it would take to beat the fastest kid on the playground in a race, shoot the winning shot over the tallest, and run a touchdown against the largest. It was this competitiveness that drove me to not always be the best on the court or field, but to be the most motivated and hard working.   [more]

Living an active, healthy lifestyle is anything but new to me.  My initial motivation was cultivated somewhere between 1st and 3rd grade while playing soccer right here in Eugene Oregon.  That is, it became very clear to me that if two teams of equal sk
ill played each other, the team with a greater degree of fitness would prevail.  Soon I began spending my recess faithfully running laps around the track, and too this day, have in a sense never stopped.  However, eventually my motivation matured into a desire to improve my physical and mental health, as well as discover who I was and my true potential.  [more]

I have always been a very active individual. Growing up I was involved in gymnastics, dance, and Pilates. When I graduated from high school it was a natural progression for me to go from my country home of Santa Fe, New Mexico to the big city of Manhattan for a career in dance. After an injury while training as a professional contemporary dancer at Marymount Manhattan College, I became fascinated with the rehabilitation process. It was this fascination, and my newfound dedication to a healthy body, that motivated me to pursue a career in physical therapy.  [more]
